My 1993 Corvette won’t start ?!? I have a 93 Auto and I turn the key and silence, no clicking, Ive since jumped it assuming the battery was dead and “still” silence, there’s no blinking security or anything but still car will not start, can anyon help??
Checking a few things out and providing more information to the forum could bring more answers.
Do the headlights work at full brightness? If not, have you had the battery charged? Tested? If lights are bright, are the terminal connections clean and tight?
I would start there. If the battery is strong I would suspect the starter next. Pull it and have it bench tested.
Is the dash lighting up? You didn't say and the fact that you thought to charge the battery first makes me wonder. Try removing the battery terminals and make sure they're clean and tight.
Most important thing is to get a FSM (Factory Service Manual) so you can check wiring diagrams (assuming it's an electrical issue and not a bad starter as Waterloo suggests.)

dash lights work and headlights are working strong, I tried starting with out the jumpers on and got some kicking, when I do turn the key the locks open and close? That never happened before..
You could try jacking up the car and tapping on the starter with a dead blow hammer. Sometimes the bendix gets hung up. This could possibly free it if that is the case. After the tapping (medium strength) try starting the car. If it starts, you may still need a starter to avoid being stranded if it happens again. The locking of the doors when you turn the key is odd but I would try the starter first.
Yea I’ve tried that, seems weird that I turned the key once yesterday and it clicked like the battery was dead then jumped it and complete silence? I’m kind of back where I started, really frustrating, would to hate to have it towed to the dealer to find out it’s a simple fix..

I would also add that if you do jack it up, measure the voltage on the P terminal as someone turns the key. That will tell you everything. If voltage it there and if the battery is good and terminals clean, it's probably then the starter (solenoid) .
This happened to me about a month ago. My battery kept completely dying. By chance I went out one night and the interior lights were on. Turns out that they'd go out when I walked away and then they'd come back on a few minutes later. I must not have been noticing what was going on. So then I started paying attention and it kept happening every time I got out of the car and walked away. Only way I could get the interior lights to turn off and stay off was to use the key in the (passenger) door lock to lock and unlock it. That would keep them off. Then after I replaced the battery I noticed a clicking sound behind the dash right around the glove box. Then the lights would come on again. It just kept clicking even without the key in the ignition. I never did tear the dash apart to get to it, I just keep the passenger door locked with the key itself and haven't had the clicking or the lights coming back on unless I use the door lock interior switch. It'll be a spring job, I'm not messing with it this time of year.
That was my experience with a constantly dying battery anyway.
Thanks Natty C. Mine is doing the same thing. It eats batteries alive. I just changed the battery again and it has stopped, but it has done this before, and started back again sometime later. I will start locking the passenger door with the key. If you ever find out what causes this let me know and I will do the same.
