Has anyone had problems with the MSD Digital 6 retard system. I am on my third one, well I should say my last one. This system sucks and keeps going out. Any comments??
Yes, You have to reset it i think...i am not sure but everyone i know you have to disconnect the bat and get everything wired then connect everything at one time? did you install it with the Bat connect hot? I am not sure if that is the problem with it not working but did it make your car run worse when it was installed? Just my .02 cents

If you don't learn to follow directions you will have the same problem wih another brand. The fact that you have a problem with three tells me you installed it wrong you didn't get three bad units. MSD is the best ignition system on the market people run them trouble free for years. Have you called there tech support for help or are you just installing all of them the same way :nopity
Interesting - I have had each one installed at different shops. Towed it back twice on the last break down I disconnected it and wired around it to get home. :mad
The car has died while driving. the first time I had the Opti replaced and the shop said that the dig 6 was bad also. The next time it acted like the opti, just quit and would not turn over, but it was the dig 6 again. The last time the car just quit and turned over but would not start. Three different shops installed each one. I am sending it back for repair and inspection, anyone want to buy it when I get it back? :(
I find it really hard to believe you got 3 bad units in a row. If that is true that is horrible. Where are you getting your 12v switched supply from? Are your main 12v hot at all times and ground going directly to the batter or somewhere else?

I will check it out and go over the instructions with the current shop. Currently it is out of the car. Thanks for your input. :seeya
I had my MSD 6AL go out on me a couple weeks ago. It lasted over 3 years so I would say that I got my money worth. I may go up to the Dig 6 on the next one.
It is odd but believe me it happened I have the receipts to prove it. My car has been a nightmare since May but it is all re-built and getting some miles on the new engine. Dyno'd at 320 RWHP so with the gas I have another 100 RWHP - plenty of HP. Should be around 510 at the engine and 420 RWHP. Installed an Ed Wright chip and planning a trip to Tulsa to have Ed fine tune the chip after the Holidays. Running a little rich and the torque converter is not quite right. Looking forward to the road trip to bad it's Tulsa.
It is a different car for sure. Not your Mother's Chevy..
