Hub/Balancer tool...
I am trying to install the balancer hub on a new short block, and am running into some trouble. First off it looks like the "snout" of the crank is actaully shorter than the "shaft" of the hub, by about 3/16". This seems odd to me. Also I am having a heck of a time putting it on. The Haynes manual references a tool to remove/install the hub, has anyone seen one of these or have any idea where I could get one? Has anyone run into this problem before?

I have seen some install / removal tools in the summit racing and jegs catalogs. I have the fluid damper tool which only works on the small block chevy, it works great.

I puchased a fluiddamper...street damper...have not installed it yet....Bought it from JEGGS.
What tool from fluiddamper are you refering to....Where to buy???

I bought mine from summit but that was 3 years ago. I looked on the summit web page and the fluid damper page, it looks like they don't make it any more. Summit sells a universel one but it is expensive, the one I got was around 45.
