Throttle position sensor connector - 89
Learned a pretty hard lesson. When buying a replacement throttle position sensor, make sure you check how the plug side seats into the receptacle with the moisture seal. We found that the TPS connection was not fully engaged causing some crazy idle on my 89. We removed that seal and the car settled right down and into the happy idle spot....650-750 on the vehicle tac.
Always check the stupid simple before going through the suffering of chasing a problem that you really don't have... :-)
