I did a 6 point in my 88 in 2003. There were no C4 specific kits at the time, so i had a pallet of steel to work with. If you go to General Discussion, and go to the title "Just for the hell of it" thats my build. I think there are some good pics of it. At the start of my build i wanted to road race, but there is nothing in NY like that, so its a heavily modified street care. Still not on road just yet.

A few notes.

The rear i made brackets to bring the tubes outboard a bit so i can still store my targa top back there. Just an option.

Also, i now have to deal with my ebrake as it hits the pipe on drivers side. Gonna tackle that soon. Gonna either shorten the handle, or offset it somehow so its still usable

The main hoop is as high as it can go but still allow the halo trim pieces to come on and off. When i look in rear view mirrow, i can see the bar, but it dosent cut the view off much.

Dunno if your looking at street, or full race. I assume 12 point full on race, but just giving my .02. If you really need alot of pics i have a ton when we did the job.

Good luck!

Alot of pics would be great! Feel free to dm me your email. as for the application. actually not full race believe it or not. the car is going to see lots of track time but will be a daily. Im going to have a fair amount of hp so i just want to be extra safe. (600whp+ ish) (even if it is overkill).

My cage (minus wing) fits inside of a completely gutted stock body. That is gutted doors, roof, and removed stock gas tank and everything inside of the rear bumper.

A 12 point cage seems overkill. Stick to a 6 or 8.

Your entry/exit area. In a race car, there will be a requirement for body panels and a roof skin. The existing angle severely limits exiting quickly.

Depending on the sanctioning body we are talking about, there is no requirement for body/roof.

Door bar swingouts are legal to 8.50.

I've raced NASA before and you're right, it is a requirement for them.

So, I would fail your cage in tech in a full bodied car based upon being able to exit the car rapidly.

If hes not interested on sanctioned SCCA or NASA racing then this is all a moot point.

I'm surprised the roof provision applies to the c4, only because the roof physically bolts in. AFAIK all other removable roof panels use tabs and levers to secure them.
