I was wrong, the Innova model is a 3120. As for the fuel pump, it is brand new, fuel filter is brand new, and my fuel preasure is within limits. My timing is set to 6°BTDC. I agreed that the MAF is likely. The MAF burn off module is proving to be hard to find for my 85, should that be the issue. The FSM says to check function of that before replacing MAF. This blog has really helped me learn a lot about my vette. I will get to the bottom of it. This weekend I should have time to do more detective work.
Understood, yes the scan tools gives me a breakdown but what I read is almost word for word what the FSM says in relation to codes. I don't think that is a freeze frame. My scan tool is great for OBD2, but OBD1 is more general. But since I do not get a check engine light on the dash, the Innova scan tool gives me a starting point with codes. Many of the codes have resolved just from cleaning connections. My security system works now, I think because of cleaned connectors. My car sat for a long time before I got it.
I just went back and read this thread from the beginning. Did you ever get WinALDL going? You can use it to data log which may be useful. Also didn’t you say that the LCD cluster had been removed and analog gauges installed? If so how is the ECM getting a VSS speed signal, it needs one?
Thanks for the support guys. As for the instrument cluster, it is an OE cluster, LED. The problem with the dash is I have no check engine light. There is a short that I have not found yet. I have not hooked up my laptop to the suggested program you speak of. I plan to, however, I do not yet have the connector cable made for the interface.

If you don’t want to make a WinALDL cable you can buy one from Moats. Just DM me if you have any questions on how to make one etc.
That would be great! Building one seems to be less expensive, however, how reliable are the bluetooth options on line? Once I get the motor running correctly then I can look to upgrades. I want to eliminate the cat and smog pump etc. My 85 is school for me right now. I am learning a lot. The car is less and less complicated the more I learn.

Yep they’re not that complicated they are just a SBC after all. I’ll send you a DM
I am replacing my MAF burn off module and I am putting it in a easier place to get to. As long as the ground I'd good, location should not matter, right?
