this is the one I use, in fact, that is my car. I gave them permission to use the picture I shared with them

my wife made the padded cover. it is made out of upholstery grade vinyl. JoAnn fabrics has the exact match for torch red. they also have black, I didn't look for other colors

I put mine in to tie the hoop together.

just for the record, I did have to have one of the holes welded up and redrilled, their jig must have slipped. it cost less to fix it than to ship it back, I am very pleased and consider it worth the investment

Are you actually using it to mount a 5 point harness, or are you just going for looks?

If you are referring to me, I use it to tie the hoop together. It along with the camber brace, tightened the car up a lot. It acts like the bulkhead behind the back seat of a car. The car is vastly improved since we got it. The pin top shock mounts from Banski helped a lot also as you don't have to wait for the rubber to compress before the shocks start working.

I have it bolted in tight and actually used steel dust JB Weld to make the fit to the bolts that go to the upper seatbelt mounts perfect. I waxed the bolts and packed that JB Weld around them.

The hole is as tight as if I had reamed it.

Asking the OP what his intended use is.

Yours is not a harness bar. It is a “Chassis Bar”. Any harness attached to it, is improperly installed.

How do you figure that ? Most harness bars just go straight across. Exotic Muscle's anchors to the frame via the 4 bolts that held the targa top holder and the 2 seat belt bolts. They are the ones really doing the anchoring. Their picture out on eBay shows harnesses attached.

You should be telling them. I just use it for chassis reinforcement.

Here is one from Ecklers

same as Ecklers, just less expensive

Harnesses for SAFETY have specific standards for mounting. It needs to be on a 0 to -20 degree mount. Your Exotic Muscle Chassis Bar drops it down to roughly a -80 mount. The Brey-Krause Bar is properly configured.

This is a typical rule
"B. Cars must incorporate a main hoop horizontal brace at the approximate level of the driver’s shoulders but not lower than the shoulder belt mounting point as described. If a double-diagonal “X” brace is used in the plane of the main hoop, a half-width horizontal brace may be used behind the driver’s seat to mount the seat back and shoulder harness."

Not sure if they still make it - but I think mine was made by Arizona Speed and Marine. It's not on their website - but you could give them a call.

As I said, tell them. All I use it for is reinforcement.

However, it is good to clarify for others that are going to actually use it for a harness bar. Of that I agree.

The two bolts on either side in the back are just into fiber glass.
