Replacing the four instrument cluster bulbs and one socket fell out the back trying to push one bulb in, so I have to remove the cluster. Got it all out EXCEPT I can't seem to get these weird GM connectors off to unplug it and lift it out. Any tips or ideas? This thing has prolly never been out and all the wiring is in giod shape so I don't want to get rough and break something
See the link below to the silver tabs that hold the harness onto the cluster, just push a flat blade screwdriver in to raise them and they pull out.
Post no5 has great pics to see the tabs in position and how to release them.
Great link with good pics except the top harness on mine doesnt even have the metal clip just the plastic blue and gray retainers. Both gray and the blue clip are off the harness right now and laying on the dash. Harness won't budge and havent even attempted the bottom plug in yet.
Got it out finally. Buddy of mine was over and had the damn thing unplugged in 30 seconds. Works that way I guess; sometimes you eat the bear and sometime it eats you. Anyway, got it all apart and got the socket back in.place and replaced all 4 bulbs. Thanks to everyone for the info.
