Disable Skip Shift Dash Light?
Disabling the skip shift seems straight forward enough on my LT4. Is there any way to disable the light other than reprogramming the ECU? Can a bulb be pulled in the instrument cluster?

You can of course remove the bulb in the cluster to prevent the light from coming on (I'm assuming here you already bypassed the relay on the transmission). But really, the correct way is reprogramming the PCM. That would disable both the relay and the light in one fell swoop.

I like the method suggested by meh92. Cheap and reversible. I don't have the capability of reprogramming the PROM, and reversing it would require another reprogram (a re-reprogram?). Although the 1-> 4 shift doesn't bother me that much after 31 years.

I just disconnected the up-shift cable from the tranny on my '89 MN6.
Now, when the ECM flashes up that damn up-shift light I just smile and think "I'm in control now, baby"...
