Default Clicking noise upon drag launch ? Normal?

I had a clicking noise/shuddering from the rear as I launch

ed my 6spd supercharged 93 at the dragstrip last night (p315 /35r17 toyo r888 road race tire)

here is the timeslip for that run. Ive gotten 11.96 once with this car. Was hoping for that or better last night but no such luck

I tried to post a video below. Turn sound on and notice the clicking/shuddering as the car launches.

you may have to ‘zoom in’ on the video to see whats
going.

(i meant to capture my gage pod (in the video) but failed miserably)

But yeah - please watch the video and tell me if the shuddering//rat-a-tat-tat clicking seems normal ...

Hi
That is not normal its quite loud and violent, sounds like something is making contact even though sticky tires slipping then finding traction have a violent shudder feel.
I would check the engine mounts, trans torque beam to diff bolts are torqued correctly and the rear end bushes / tie rod assembly condition.
Depends on what wheel spin you are getting at launch, check your rear end and get the alignment checked so you can launch straight.
Otherwise if your rear suspension is all spot on, do you suspect the LSD clutches are worn and one wheel is not putting the power down? that would give a rear torque steering and shuddering effect that you are counteracting i would think?
These are all just guesses that could explain the shuddering, so you really need to check a few things a process of elimination.
Good luck
She sounds great accelerating

the clutch is bulletproof - it never does anything weird. Plus Id probably feel it in the clutch pedal.

i need to check breakaway torque on my diff on each side

im worried somethings up with the limited slip.

i had some issues with stuck clutch packs (and it ‘clickin skipping around corners), but i got that solved with a diff fluid / additive change this winter

However its not clicking or hopping when I gonaround corners this time.

i listened to my burnout and the clicking noise wasnt there. That said, the burnout was more of a dry one (in 2nd gear ) and last all about 2 seconds.

i was in a street tire class and they dont wet the surface much for street tires. Though I was running road race toyo r888 which have a pattern.
(someone is gonna ask why i am doing a burnout and thats to clean off the tires. They spray a small amount of water after each car goes , before the staging area, and I want that water gone from my tire and tread before I launch)

Get a friend to video launch outside car as close to starting line as possible. See how car reacts. Leaf or coilovers? If still leaf, rate? Adjustable shocks?

You could try adjustable shocks first. Increasing rebound on left rear and. Increasing compression on right. If that doesn't work 84 rear spring and repeat the process. The idea is rear of car leaves as level as possible

Either 84 rear springs are stiffer than later Z07/Z51 spring.
