Lifting points vs jack-stand points
I mean, I'm sure there are "2 car garages" that can't accommodate that. I'm sure. BUT...there are also tons of "2 car garages" that most certainly can accommodate that. Mine is one and our garage growing up is another. It's an option that the OP should be aware of, for the cost.
Look if you like 'em...great!
I'm not putting you down for having them...I don't like them and am throwing the reasons, and an alternative for the OP. For ME (not for everyone), If Ihave $1200 for a quick jack...then I'll ensure that I have ~5-600 more and get a real two post lift and stop dicking around on my back.
Now, if a quickjack were $400? $600?....different story. Then the value might be there. But for $1200 or whatever....get a real lift, IMO. If you like your QJ, great for you . Don't need to defend the thing to me.I had no option and I studied it hard. In my garage, for the height, I would have had to put the lift right in the center and raise the ceiling. Taking it down to 1 car and always gated on the sides by the posts. When you add that cost in to the purchase of the lift, well it was far more expensive than a quick jack.
I looked at the lower lifting roll away (Max Lift IIRC) but even rolled out of the way, the posts take up a lot of space.
I will say this, If we move again or build. The garage, or a garage on the property, will have the space to accommodate a real lift. There is no substitution. IMO. I doubt I would give these up for other reasons, so far I love them and it has been so much better than a jack and stands. I do however find your reasoning a bit off from the experience of actually owning and using them.
There are a lot of options out there because not everyone's constraints are the same. I will just say it straight here so there is no confusion. If you have the room for a real 2 post lift, don't even think about it, get one.

As a solution i've been using the square block combined with a pinch weld block, where I normally place jackstands.
Here’s how I’ve been using it combined with a pinch weld block as a solution. Interesting you havnt encountered this makes me wonder if my blocks are defective.

In the case of the stock car, getting most jacks under the front air dam and far enough under the car to get the front cross member is tough...then you still need a way to jack the rear, so it's just easier and faster to do it the way that GM tells you to; from the sides.

I used to jack my Camaro up like this, and I had to remove the Airdam to get enough stroke from the handle.

I am surprised nobody has mentioned this on the thread... but before you jack your C4, make sure you open the hood, hatch, remove your roof, and most importantly open your ashtray door.

I leave mine leaning up against the wall and they take up very little room that way. I have a two car garage, and a two or four post would take up a lot of floor space and I'm sure it would only be a matter of time before I'd damage the car on a post. If I had more space and a better concrete floor I would have thought more about the real lifts, but for now I'm wondering why I didn't get the Quickjack years ago!

Yes, I'm finding my ramps and jack stands just don't give me enough room under the car to do things like a shift kit, etc. fingers crossed for another sale!!!
