I still want my A/C, I just want to try and see if the A/C delete pully could work in place of the smog pump....I know there would have to be some modifying....I want to know if anyone has done it this way.....I know it had been talked about before.....Great info on the topic though.....
sorry,I lost track of this thread ( havn't got the highlighted place's I've been to since the site changed).
I have seen the A/C delete on a camaro, don't know what year it was. the bracket wouldn't work for a smog pump replacement but the pully should work with a fabricated brace.
I too thought the aftermarket jobby was too much money, but couldn't find a grooved pully with bearings to use in a home made version. of course after I bought one I see this camaro with the A/C delete

Re: Smog pump delete? (ol,RJ)
OK, we've established that the A/C camaro replacement won't work. And Apollo wants to keep his A/C, but just use that camaro pulley to Fab a replacement for the Airpump. My suggestion is to just buy the Breathless airpump delete kit-chromed. Looks good. Bolts right on.Saves time.
So what still remains is that there is no aftermarket kit for an A/C replacement and that has to fabricated.????Maybe VetteRacer coulod go into business and make 'em? :chevy
