Well, as you guys know I really like my superram being black. It definitely looked different from other cars and worked well with the yellow paint. I am thinking of going ahead and getting it powdercoated now that I've seen how it looked.
So what do you think? Crinklecoat black? Or something else?
Pic might not work, webserver being finicky today.
I almost did nine in crinkle coat black. My uncle owns a custom powder coating shop. I decided on polish since my valve covers are powder coated gloss black. I should have powder coated the polished parts with clear. Shoulda, coulda, woulda. I vote for black crinkle.
I dont know jack about powdercoating, what is it exactly that they do to it? How long does it take to have that done, and who would do it? What kind of shop i mean.
Will the paint you have on there now eventually wear off?
i think the owner of the black SR needs to change his brake fluid :jester
in all seriousness i love the look though, i'd do it man, quite a few people have done polished, the black powder or wrinkle would be a nice touch that hasn't been done over and over.
The powder coat would hold up way better that the spray paint. I think the crinkle coat would be the way to go. Or you could join the Polished group..
Why not powerdercoat yellow to match your car, or a combo of black and yellow? I saw one a few weeks ago with this color combo under the hood and it looked killer.

:nonod: I can't stand lots of yellow under the hood. I've seen a yellow LT5 and couldn't stand it. Plus my yellow is a more dull shade than the later competition yellow.
Black Crinkle for sure! I'm getting ready to bolt mine on my new 408 and might think about doing that myself...reminds me of the Callaway TT's with their black TPI's..that looks really good.
