Other than both of them being expensive, I don't think you can go wrong either way. My advise is to give them both a call and see who you feel better about.
I'd go for someone close. Since you live in Jersey, neither or them make sense to me. Why don't you check out Cartek? They seem to have made John Mckey's LT1 run pretty quick :)
I called Lingenfelter's right after New Year's of '01.
My '88 had just under 21,000 miles, and when I asked them
to give me the full treatment, they turned me down saying,
"John doesn't like to take in cars that are that old. He's too much of
a perfectionist, and doesn't like a car to leave here with anythng
wrong. With older cars, especially those over 20,000 miles
we've found that you just run into TOO much that's wrong on those
cars."
I haven't called back lately. Maybe in the current economy they'll change their tune.
(Here's the edit,) I don't live more than about 120 mile away. Closer if you
run some smaller roads.
Just curious;
Why didn't you mention Callaway? If you are in Jersy they would be closer, wouldn't they? The Super Natural package seems like it holds up agains LPE and DRM. Or do you know something I don't?

I had a similar response from Lingenfelter when I called about rebuilding the L98 in my 90. I was interested in getting it freshened up and perhaps converted to a 383. All they would offer was one of their crate engines for $12K that I would have to install myself.
I just seemed to notice mostly LPE references, and a few DRM too, but not as many for Callaway, that's all. I'm not discounting anyone, just thought the other two were a little more commonly mentioned, and Callaway didn't enter my mind until your post.
is there any way to choose between these two performance giants if you were to upgrade your Vette?
What type of upgrade are you wanting to do?
I had DRM do the mods listed in my signature, and am very satisfied with their work.
One of the guys that goes for weekend drives with us, forum member "Johnno", had a SC done by LPE on his Z06 and it looks and runs great.
Calling them both and talking to them is probably your best bet. My vette is heading back to DRM soon for brakes, suspension, and roll bar....Tim Elmquist is person that I have been working with. You could probably post to Johnno on the Great Lakes forum and see if he has a particular contact he likes at LPE.
LPE seems to prefer new - and I emailed DRM a few days back and am awaiting a reply.
There's a local place called Corvette Paramedics whom I may give a call to - they're closer and may not have any qualms about an older ('92) car.
