I’m not looking for anything obnoxious, but when I start a Corvette, I want to feel like I’m in a sports car.
The stock setup isn’t horrible at WOT...its just that it sounds like any other car when at idle or under light acceleration.
I pulled the trigger on a Corsa Cat Back System today. It’s insane that a set of steel tubes can cost $1,500 but they have the market cornered I guess. Headers will have to wait until fall/winter.

They make recorded sounds that can change with RPM. IIRC, Mustang owners wanted the exhaust noise enough that Ford and others plumbed the noise into the cabin to give the impression.
Don't forget that depending on what engine you are running and headers and cat, it changes the noise.
304 SS with mandrel bends and a lot of thought put into it is cheap to produce, relatively. However, you have to pay for my efforts to design it, market it, advertise, etc. When you ask me to make something that sells a lot, that is one thing. When I have to make 100 units and sit on it for a while, it might be different. TPIS used to keep the headers in stock for C4s. Last I heard it was back ordered and they were planning to make a batch.
I'm curious if you have a video with audio of this setup? I love the idea of the HP gain with the long tube headers/cat eliminator into my stock LT1 mufflers, but worry I wont get the sound improvement I'm looking for. Any else have thoughts on this? Deciding between either Corsa Cat Back or American Racing Headers into stock mufflers...can't afford both.
Here is a quick video of my setup. No cats, no resonator, just the ARH headers, 3" x-pipe and extensions that reduce down to 2.75" to fit over the stock LT1 exhaust. I think it will sound even better once I do heads/cam/intake. The whole swap cost me about $1500 bucks.
I recently took my car for a long road trip and...MAN did the drone kill me. I'm not sure what's on my car, but it's not stock I don't think. It drones badly in the 1700 RPM range which is where I also like to cruise. Would a Corsa system solve that? Sounds like it did for you.
It's not even that mine is LOUD...it's just this constant drone that gives you a headache after being in it for a couple hours. I do love how it sounds at idle and when revving though.

Thanks for that! Sounds much more aggressive than a lot of the exhaust guys I talked to said it would. I already pulled the trigger on the Corsa system, but I think headers are inevitable. Curious, is there any drone with the header/no cat/into stock LT1 muffler?

I don't know. With my setup using LT headers and a Magnaflow cat, I don't hear it. YMMV
