..... Trans mount ... I went up instead of under ... used the C-beam , half of a driveshaft hoop , and a poly mount to secure it to the hump under the console .....

..... The economy brake kit was from Moser ... 96 Ford Explorer ... the park brake in the rotor hat was almost the same size as the OG 'vette's ... I was able to modify the Ford brake lever and attach the 'vette cables .....

Nice Job!

What is locating the rear? What size rear springs (pounds and height).

Do you use a transbrake?

Thank you,
Steve

..... Panhard bar ... springs are 7" 400# on 4" stroke shocks ... I have a pair of 10" 250# that I will try ... I have a trans brake but this hit was from idle ... I need to calm down the extension but keep the tires planted ... best 60' was a 1.403 (previous best was 1.41) and unfortunately , I never made a full pass but went 3 rounds ... based on the incremental ET's I was on a 6.67-6.68 pass with the 1.40 60 footer .....

Were you constantly breaking the IRS, or just want to upgrade to go faster?

..... I was breaking u-joint caps and crushing the needle bearings and broke a couple of outer axles ... I tried hard to stay with the D44 and even tried to down tune the car to help ... the last straw was when I drove 3 hours one way to Imokkallee for their Winter Fest 3 day race and broke an axle on the staring line on the very first time run ... it was a long drive home ... as most drag racers have already discovered ... There just comes a time .....

..... For kits there was Jesse Azzato (Skidownit?) and Carrol's Rod and Racecraft ... both offered kits to convert to GM 12 Bolt axles .....

..... My drivetrain is a 421" N/A EFI Gen 1 sbc , 5000rpm stall converter , TH400 trans , with a new 9" Ford 4.86 spool on Mickey Thompson Slicks .....

..... The body actually settled about 1.25" higher than anticipated/planned when it finally hit the pavement ... that put the Instant Center slightly behind the center of gravity and just below the Anti Squat line ... the intended I/C was just ahead of C/G and well below A/S ... I was surprised by the amount of separation and how hard it hit the tires but I have a lot of adjustability in the link bars and shocks ... this was the 1st hit on the new set-up ... I'm stoked .....

WOW some serious carnage, i have only ever twisted a half shaft.
Got some steel copies made to replace them, the only thing i am not keen on is the brace bar below the 9 inch diff.
You must have well maintained highways over there, be a disaster if that brace bar caught something propping up.....

Anyway wish i had the "keeping the front wheels down problem" LOL
