Default Method for determining cam specs without removing it?

Just looking for duration, not lift or lsa. Any clever ways to do this with cam installed? Not my car.

Put a degree wheel on it, if it is a solid lifter. measure the opening and closing events and you will have it. If it's a hyd cam you will have to take the intake off to get to a lifter as the plunger/valve spring will throw your readings off.

This is a running vehicle, not an engine on a stand. Is there no way to do it without a degree wheel?

They have small degree wheels the size of the crank pulley. You could get pretty close using one of them in the car and then measure lift at the pushrod with a rocker off. It'll get you in the ball park and no real disassembly required.

Thanks!
Just googled it; looks like a decent solution. Not super accurate but good for what I need.
