Reattaching rear window
I have an 87 convertable (new to me and still finding stuff to fix!) and I noticed that the rear (plastic) window stiching at the bottom corner has let go.
I intend to get some upholstery thread and reinforce the corner that let go by following the path of the original holes. I'm sure it will be a joy!
My question is weather proofing once I'm done. I would assume there was some sort of sealant laid down during the initial attachment of the window at the factory.
Once it has been restitched what would I do to waterproof it? I don't want to goop silicone all over the seam after it has been reattached.
Any suggestions? I looked all over but could only find threads (no pun intended!) on using Rhino glue to reattach glass windows.
Thanks in advance!
