Default ABS leaking

The ABS pump is leaking on my son’s 96, is there any place for the fluid to come from other than the 2 inlets and 4 outlets? If so, is there a repair kit available? Couldn’t find anything by searching the web. Thanks!

Sadly, it appears that whatever rebuild kits the remanufacturers were using for Bosch 5.0 ABS units dried up, as none of the places I know of that do ABS rebuilds will touch a 5.0 system anymore. As such I'd hope that the problem is just a loose line or something and not a failed internal seal. Sorry to have to be the bearer of bad news.

Mine wasn't leaking but it was hanging up the one brake. Bought a used one for 450.00 and it cost me more than that to put in. Mine is a 90 so yours uses a different pump but likely easy to obtain used. I know buying used is risky but what other options are out there.

Yeah looks like a used one is the only option should it need to be replaced. I’m seeing them on eBay for $250-ish. My understanding is it needs to be installed somewhere where it can be programmed; does that sound accurate?

This is not accurate. The EBTCM is pre-programmed. So as long as you get the one from a 1996, you should be fine. I believe one from a 1995 should work as well (they're both the same Bosch 5.0 ABS, but I cannot be 100% sure that absolutely nothing changed in the 1996 transition. Only 90% sure).

Thanks Nomake Wan, I’ll be on the lookout for a 96 version.
