Default Transmission problems
This morning when I started up my 95 it had a bit of a high idle (about 1.5-2) then it settled down after driving for a minute then after I was coming back from the store I lost 2nd and 3rd and only had 1st gear the tranny fluid was dry so I refilled it and nothing the only codes I had were code 53 and the EGR valve code. No visible smoke from the tranny except for when I pulled the dipstick then a bit came out the tube but I think that would be normal if I didn't have any fluid. Any ideas for where I should start looking I browsed the forums for a bit but couldn't find anything.

Did you find the leak? There are a lot of quarts of fluid and if you found it dry it had to leak a bunch.

I watched the video but none of these symptoms match because I still have reverse and there's no shift to second at all

Just a shot, but it may have gone into self protect mode because of pressure loss. I would disconnect the battery for a few minutes to see if it resets. It's worth a shot.
