Default 85 Timing Cover

Is the mark bracket originally welded on the cover or bolted to the cover bolts?

Since they made the 350 for so many years is it an issue to getting the right cover with the timing mark in the same spot. I would image the timing marks changed over the years

Yes it can. It's tight but if you use the tool setup that I mentioned here it can be done.

That link is actually the cover I bought. They show 1 left in stock at $21.95 price. It's the replacement part for GM part #10243967 which is the L98 timing cover.

Mercury Marine's part number for it is #14249A2 but it's the same small block Chevy cover. If my link doesn't work correctly, just go into eBay and search on the Mercury part number at left.
