Default 1996 LT1 Radiator drain plug. ?

I swear, I'm a relatively competent diy'er and I'm getting ready to take on the notorious waterpump/optispark project but I can't seem to get past first base.
I'm not familiar with the drain plug on this radiator and can't even find exactly how it's supposed to work, 1/4 turn? Left, right? Take it all the way out? I've turned it counter clockwise a rotation or two and nothing comes out? Is it just gunked up? It seems possible, I got the car from the original owner who generally took pretty good care of it but who knows when the system was last flushed.
Any suggestions for getting it to start flowing? I even started the car and still nothing, not a drop.

It's a plastic drain plug.

I believe after a few turns - it starts to drain from the bottom - but try completely unscrewing it...

Worst case - you can pull the lower rad hose and get most coolant out.

Okay, I got it. Since it's plastic I was afraid to put too much torque on it. Thanks.

In my experience, once the drain **** "breaks loose" - it spins fairly easily. If yours is touch to turn - there is probably a lot of "crud" in the cooling system.

alot of times on a poorly or infrequently maintained vehicle those plastic drain plugs will leak after years of non-use, its much easier and faster to just pop the lower rad hose lose.
