This came off a '95, and I think it was from the alternator area. Anyone know where it goes? I keep thinking its meant to protect the Alternator live wire, but I can't get it to work for that purpose.

I don't believe that's correct. A GM # for that support is 10086195 and it's very different. eBay has a very good image usually of the 10086195.

Pass side, rear intake stud is where it mounts. It protects the wire harness from the air tube that goes off the header to the rear of the intake.

It's not the upper radiator hose support. That's in place, and is quite a bit larger that this piece. Thanks though.

op, i see that your engine is an lt1.

the location you are seeking in the above photo is on the passenger side of the engine at the rear just above the valve cover and bolted to the intake manifold. the half moon portion holds down the wire bundle and the wing is vertical. if i knew how i would have circled it.
