I had this issue “start up” end of last year. I thought it was moisture and corrosion issue and cleaned up some connections. Didn’t reoccur. Has happened twice to me this year, cleaned more and put dielectric grease on the connections.
the issue: Car always cranks fast no issue cold. Every now and then, usually if I have it hot and walk away for a few minutes, it “bogs” on restart. VERY briefly cranks fast then lights dim like it’s pulling a ton of current, starter bogs then spins back up and starts. This all happens within a second or two. This is rare but I’d like to address before it leaves me stranded.
To me it feels like the starter going bad/dead spot or something shorting in the starter?…sound about right?
If this was a no-start or re-creatable problem I’d measure voltages etc…
I believe you've a '93 and that would be a 'denso starter so ...... have you ever done any 'solenoid/contact/plunger' maintenance on the starter? When you cleaned etc did you pay any attention to whether the starter was original or maybe an already replaced by maybe a reman or other than ?
Your mentioned issue hints 'denso needs some maintenance!
When I did the clutch it sure looked original and pretty grime-y. I wiped it up a bit and reinstalled. I even thought about replacing it but left it alone. So no maintenance done.
Full rebuild kit or just solenoid/contact/plunger?
Check first for a 'label' that could indicate original. You haven't mentioned miles. Parts for maintenance should be 'local'. If here's a 'local' rebuilder I'd buy parts from them and probably a DIY. A conversation with that rebuilder could be very valuable.

Back in the day, I used to street race a 340 Dodge. I had similar problems to yours and took the starter to a rebuilder. He said he installed big block windings on it to spin faster. I have no idea what he did, but that 340 cranked like a sewing machine after that. You might give it a try.
