Hey all, chasing my brakes dragging a bit in the front. Checking off another item, the expected "profile" of a rotor with say 10k use, as in thickness about 1/4" from the rotor's edge versus 1". The 1/4" is within pad contact in my current setup.
I've found one reference that implied the outer edge should be thicker, but I think they meant where the pad doesn't touch. Should the thickness be pretty much the same where the pad rubs on the rotor? Little thinner at the outer pad contact?

If you're asking how much wear is normal where the pad contacts the rotor, it's not much....like a couple thousanths, maybe. And, it should be even from the inside of the rotor (near the "hat") to the outer circumference. A small bit will be the standard, original thickness at the edge.
