1984 Corvette (cease fire) help
It seems my car is in the shop more than on the road. From my research, some 1984 corvette were just problems from the get-go. Correct me if I am wrong on that. I've done everything underneath the sun to keep this car running. I bought the car with 45k in 2018. Here is the list. Where is the fuel line value I can press to see if there is pressure?
Current Mileage 49k
The current problem is start-up issues and cutting off while driving. I broke down today in the Chick Fil A drive-thru. Just had the starter replaced last week on August 5th (starter issues sent the car to the shop three times this year). Car started up and ran great for five days and now more problems. Right now it cranks but no start. Check engine light is solid. There seems to be a recurring issue with the starter wire coming undone underneath the car. Checked all fuses none are out.
New Altenator August 2019
TBI Tune-Up and Driver Side Injector - Cap & Rotor - air Cleaner - December 2019
General check up - grease fittings - check for leaks etc - power steer flush - transmission flush - March 2020
New ecm May 2020
May 2021 Spark Plug Wire
Valve Cover Gaskets & Oil Pressure Switch June 2021
Fuel Filter Nov 2021
New Transmission - Ignition Swtich - Dec 2021
New Fuel Pump & Starter August 2022
Thank you for your time.

Last night I was reading through the shop manual and Haynes as well trying to pinpoint the issue.

84 GM Service Manual

First off, there isn't a schrader valve for the fuel pressure like the 85 vette and up. CFI NEVER had that option for FP from GM. You measure the pressure in-between both throttle bodies, how you do it, is your decision. 13psi works just fine on ANY stock CFI motor, that's a GM high side spec, not mine. The manual I mentioned above IS what you need to get if you want to keep and or work on your CF and keep it running properly. Once you get things squared away, they run like the energizer bunny... Getting it there is usually the issue for the first time guys. GL
One last comment. The shop that you take your vette to "may not" know what they are doing with CFI and "may" mess your car up further. It is a chance that this may happen. There are NOT many around that know how to work on CFI even though it is a simple system. DO NOT mess with the TB adjustments unless you are completely familiar with them and know what you are doing or you WILL mess things up even more.
