Fuel Injectors
1) can this be a fuel injector problem?
2) I there a way to diagnose it as the injectors.
3) If it is the injectors what injectors do I use. The ones in the car are from Shore Fuel Injector, Long Island, NY. They are rebuilt. They have been in the car a few years. I am thinking new injectors.
With respect to the car shutting. It would just stop. Sometimes stumble and then stall but usually just stop. Could not be restarted. Then after several hours it would restart. The mechanic is a good C4 mechanic. Owns over thirty C4.
I really appreciate the help.
Only a few minutes away if you own a SR- 71 blackbird.
That is interesting for a Vette mechanic to blame the injectors. The odds of all 8 INJs failing to the point of shutting off. do to lack of fuel. Example a V8 will run if you unplug 2 injectors. does not sound healthy. But runs.
I would validate fuel pressure at KO no start, should snap up to 43lbs - 45lbs idle, should lock at 43lbs slow gradual rev to about 2k. 43lbs - 45lbs.
Any DTC codes?
CTS. a bad coolent temp sensor can create multi problems. no start, stall.
Check Grounds.
Keep us posted.
Yes, I am confused on how the injectors can be the problem, as well. Would it run poorly yes. In fact as I write this . I forgot to mention. The car backfires out the mufflers when I slow down quickly. Just remembered. I have not driven it over a year.
CTS went on my 84. Literally got 1 mpg. Ran out of gas. But, when the CTS went bad the coolant temperature was all over the place. Grounds are a possibility. I have TunerPro RT. I have to review the last data log file. DTC codes? Sorry DTC?
Ground gremlins are always a possibility.
FP was good. But, I never checked the FP when the car was in a will not start. I just hate to drive it to get stuck. Thank you
