Besides crash. It would appear designed to keep the fuel somewhat centralized on a low tank?

I did not look at my 95 long gone.
If by liner you mean the blond colored rectangle box that the pump inlet sits in then Yes I have that. I was thinking a liner meant a rubber type tank within a tank. Dan

They all have the blond tray that the sock sits in, the Badder is a hard plastic shell, I seem to remember seeing it when wiping out tanks with contaminated fuel in several years but never had a sending unit out of cars with the LT series so maybe they stopped it after I left in 93

.I guess a magnet on a stick into tank bottom from inside could prove or dis-prove it.

. Doing research it appears that the aftermarket tanks all have same disclaimer. These tanks Do Not/Use or Equipped with liner Not included
so maybe factory has it

UPDATE: I just filled up I had two bars left and it went to reserve 1 mile before the gas station. The range showed 67 miles left. It took 15.95 gallons to fill. The tank is 20.1 gallons total but I will ASSUME that you run out of gas with a half gallon still in the tank. So 19.6 gal minus 15.95 gal means I had 3.65 gallons usable gas left. I consistently hand calculate my milage at 21.4 MPG. So with 3.65 gallons usable left and 21.4 MPG I should have had 78 miles to empty. This is 11 miles different than the range showed. I am calling this good for now. Thanks for reading. Dan

Ive got my fuel pump out and want to do this.

i have the herko stainless steel hanger

im tired of it saying im out of gas but really have 6-7 gallons left

I dont see much difference between the 2 photos. Is the after photo the one with the tape measure and paper in it?

did you bend the arm ‘up’ or ‘down’ (if you were looking down at the pump was mounted in the tank)

im assuming you bent it ‘up’ (made the float higher)

also what part of the arm did you bend?
Im assuming where theres already a bend, you bent it more

OK Diz, Take a look at the top photo and look at the top of the float rod and see it is touching some metal piece under the sensor. Also look at the float rod where it takes like a 30 degree bend and remember the angle. In the second photo you will see the float is in the same position relative to the filter sock as the top photo BUT the rod is now OFF the metal piece. Also take a look at the angle of the bend (which is where I bent it) and you will see it is tighter. So, yes the float came up. I did not expect to hit this as good as I did the first time. I expected to have to do it maybe 3 times. I just got lucky. I also got tired of being on reserve when I had 7 gallons left. These new stainless units are better quality for the money than I expected but they are not calibrated for a C4. Yes, the second photo with the tape measure is the after. Good Luck! Dan

Ok, so you bent it ‘down’

if standing above it , with it mounted, looking down onto it

I see where you made the angle more in one photo. In the top photo , lets say its 30 degrees in the bottom its lets say 40 degrees

So that would mean you bent the arm
down…

did you have to bend it at multiple points or just the one point

No, I bent it so the float would move UP. In just one point at the main angle. Yes, the after (bottom photo) shows the after angle of say 40 degrees while the second photo shows the starting angle of say 30 degrees. If you read my first post I was not worried about this angle at all I was shooting to raise the float a set amount I calculated by math. I wanted to raise the float 2". My math was rough and I got lucky. Dan

If by chance it doesn't work I swapped in a fuel level sensor from an S10. The arm was way smaller. Then I used the converter I talked about earlier in this thread. The S10 sender has a larger ohm spread and seems more accurate. So far its worked really well. All in all it was a pretty cheap fix too.

1993 base, my gas gauge was off 1/4 tank drove it for a year like that then it stopped working altogether so new A/C one installed it was 1/4 off just like the old one yep did the oem test I couldn't figure it out so ,drained the tank make sure it was empty ,filled up a 5 gal gas can pored it in so 5 gal. in the tank for sure base to use for a measurement ,thinking that should be a 1/4 tank installed the sending unit pump ,showing over a 1/4 so bent the Float till it showed a little less that a 1/4 tank ,I figured that would be my reserve ,took a few try's ,that's all I could come up with .worked for me ..
