I asked the shop what they would charge to replace my K&N fuel filter on my 95 convertible.
I was told since it is a convertible that the book shows more hours so the price is $295.00 (labor).
I do not have the 95 maintenance manual and have seen Youtube videos showing it us on the passenger side about 1/3 the way down toward the rear end. The shop said there is a lot to remove to expose the filter.
Can someone let me know if that is true?
Of course I am asking this prior to jacking the car up.
It's on the passenger side. Remove the nut to the hard line, and get a bucket for gas to drain in to, loosen the clamp that holds it to the frame but do not remove it. Then go under the hood and pull it up into the engine bay with the braided flexible fuel line. Change it out and reinstall. Should take less than an hour. 30 minutes of you have done it before.
It is a bit more complicated than a coup. The difference is the X frame the filter is hidden over the right front mount. If the filter doesn't fight you and you can get your hands and tool you can do it without pulling the X.
. Pulling the frame under normal circumstances pulling the X isn't a big deal but we are talking 30 plus year cars so surprises can't be ruled out, also the frame doesn't need to come out completely just dipped down enough to get hands to filter
