I have an 1989 6 spd. When I purchased the car squirrels had eaten some of the injector wires. I am having a problem with the car and the mechanic is telling me that my soldering is so bad he wanyts me to release him from any responsibility regarding fire, unless he can repair the wires. The repair I made is over five years ago. They are not a fie hazard. But, I am thinking of buying the engine wiring harness and replacing it MYSELF. Any suggestions on which supplier gives you the best one for the money. Thank you
I agree that the fire risk does not exist. I mean they wires are properly insulated and there is no fuel on the manifold. So I think he has just sealed the deal. I am thinking of a new wiring harness because I bought the car used and there was a little playing around under the hood. So I could clean up under the hood. Thank you for your suggestion with respect to the soldering iron. I will have to see what type mine is.
Is you car an M6 with C68? If yes I have a complete '89 harness that's missing nothing - it needs a 'ring terminal' added to one of the very light gauge wires. This is complete with grommet and ECM connectors in the car.
I tried to PM you. My car is a c68. I am interested in the harness. If anyone else has an unmolested C68 harness please let me know.
Thank you
A harness needs to be an M6 and also the C68. An A4 & C68 is very different.
I got your PM and failed to hit 'submit' when replying. Drop me an email - I've got a few questions.
