Pulled Code but SES not blinking

Here I go again, maybe this is related to the other thread about a new drive train noise. I got the SES light. Last time all we did was make sure the gas cap was tight and it went away. It is staying on now so I did a search to find out how to read the codes. I have a 96 LT4 for reference. I put a paperclip in the upper to right slots and turned on the key but not starting it. The SES light does not blink at all. Do I need to jumper some other locations for this car?

I bevieve you have to connect the other end to the terminal to the emidiate left of it also.

You have a 96, OBDII system. You need a scanner to pull codes!

Thanks, I guess I will take it to the Mr. Goodwrench, if the SES light does not go out soon. I am learning more about Corvettes every day and appreciate the help I get from the Forum.
