Default Cam Swap

Hey everyone,

I bought another 86 Vette coupe, it is white with saddle leather interior.
When the weather warms up here in NJ I am planning on changing some parts out for performance. I have bought long tube headers and am deleting the cats, the one under the car will be replaced with a 2 1/2 inch X pipe back to Corsa mufflers, polished and ported upper and lower intake manifolds, AFR 195 heads with 64 Cc combustion chambers, BBK 58mm throttle body, Lunati Voodoo camshaft 218/224, New timing chain and gear set, EGR block off plate.
The bottom end is already .030 over making it a 355, what kind of HP / TQ numbers do we estimate it should make? Is there anyone that has done all of this work?
Thank you, I appreciate your input

Just to clarify, you're going to run GM TPI plenum, runners, and intake manifold, but porting and polishing those parts?

I would say 300tq and 300hp at the tires would be reasonable with a good tuneup.

Call Lloyd Elliot, he specs custom grind cams from Lunatti. With his 219/223 kit and little more my '96 delivered 300/300 to wheels. He can do the heads and intake too for components that complement each other .

If not, you're going to go down the same road so many have gone down before you by choking the ever living crap out of those heads and ending up extremely disappointed in how it runs.

If your budget can't cover the Eliminators and a better TPI induction, you would be better off buying the Enforcers and a set of AZ Speed and Marine runners for your ported base intake.

I don't think the TPI intake will allow for much more than that. Even "ported and polished". You can't really port the runners at all, they're so thin...you can port the base. IDK...maybe it'll do better than that, but I say 300 crank or about 270 wheel. Do it and show us!

The prices on TPI parts are the deal breaker for me. I paid less for a Mini Ram, w/fuel rails (yes, it was used) than bent tubes w/flanges cost? And that's just one of at least two part$ you need to buy to fix TPI
