You may have a burr inside the fitting, or you don't have the fitting seated fully before you're tightening the line nut down and it's getting pinched.
Old GM garage trick for o-ring lube....with your finger tips, wipe on a nice light layer of Dawn dish soap (like one drop on index finger)! Won't harm the rubber or anything else. Everyone at the dealership I worked at, had practiced using it for decades....never a single issue! But the above advice is spot on, have the line seated with pressure from your 'off' hand before tightening the nut👍
