Hello, I have an 89 6 spd. I just bought a GM ECM. And the car is running better. Amazingly, changing the spark plugs from iridium to AC Delco made a VERY BIG improvment. So I am wrinting to ask if anyone has experience with the OSTRICH emulator?
Thank you for getting back to me. This is so important to me.
I have Tuner Pro RT. I just ordered the ostrich emulator. Is there an adapter? If there's an adapter can I buy it from you?
I haven't done tuning on the C4 platform in some years. When I got the ostrich it came with a cord so I didn't need anything else. It stores and can run your revisions to the tune instead of pulling out the prom chip and writing to it each revision. It's really a must have! I also used RT and both worked very well for me. I sold all of what I had awhile ago though.

You need the adapter at the very bottom of the pic. Your memcal piggy backs onto the adapter and the ribbon cable from the ostrich plugs into the adapter in place of where the EEPROM would normally go (ZIF optional). The whole assy in turn plugs into the ECM. You also need some kinda cable/bluetooth adapter that plugs into the aldl port and interfaces with a laptop/android phone/tablet to see the real time data.

This is really great. Do you know what number/name of the adapter? I have Tuner Pro RT, I ordered the ostrich. I don't know what adapter it is. Thank you

Welp Moates called it a G1 but of course you need to go to the other company that picked up when they closed their doors...
Red Devil River or BoostedNW...

In the picture post #5, pay attention to that red strip on the ribbon cable. It designates pin 1 on the EPROM and you need to attach ribbon cable in that manner. The notch on the EPROM also tells you which side pin 1 is as well.

BoostedNW has the version of the adapter its called a GM1 adapter for the wide memcals, for the older GM ECM's that have the 24 pin, they have an adapter thats called the GM2 (its a solder in adapter to adapt 24 pin chip to 28 pin FLASH capability)

why mention a 24 tbi 85 tpi adapter? Doesn’t seem to apply to anything here ?
