Courtesy light issue
I started to take apart the drivers door of my 1993 Corvette and took apart where the courtesy light is located on the door handle area. Upon doing this I accidentally took the light connection off of the lens not realising (Da) there is a connector to that light. Once I did that and it was all put back together the courtesy lights did not work like they should. I also had the door open for an extensive amount of time while doing this with he battery still connected. Once everything was put back in place when I go to open the door the door courtesy light lights up quickly (like a flash and goes off) not staying on. So with that being said it's not the bulb or fuse. I'm thinking it could be the courtesy light circuit board timer located in the dash area due to the door being opened so long when I was working on it. I hear they can burn out. Not to get ahead of myself does the whole dash have to be taken out or can one of the panels be taken off or can the circuit board be located if the glove box is taken out? Also does anyone know where to purchase a courtesy light circuit board. Wilcox Corvette was mentioned but it appears they have closed.

I believe it is both doors flashing I have since disconnected the battery I will reconnect tomorrow. You gave me a lot of info I want to thank you, you were very helpful. The rear hatch light
goes on when the hatch is opened. I will re access tomorrow and advise thank you for the info saved me some aggravation.

This morning I connected the battery and the courtesy lights went on and then went off as they are supposed to do. It appears once the courtesy lights are disconnected at the door with the battery connected they will not come back on the battery has the be disconnected and then reconnected it must reboot the ECM I guess. Thank you for the info much aggravation was save alone with $$$
