Default exhaust modifications

I have a 1990 Corvette. Yes, the same Lemons Corvette I have been asking about. It appears the car has 2 cats in the y-pipe and then a large cat after the y-pipe.

Are all 3 of these catalytic converters and not resonators?

If I remove all 3 will it help w/ some of the heat intrusion through the floor of the car? I have removed all carpet, it gets toasty

Will the TPI care if I remove the forward ones, since the O2 sensor is after the y-pipe converters?

Thanks.

I believe they’re all cats, but I don’t know the difference between ‘pre-cats’ and the big one.

I think it should run fine without them, my 86 ran alright when I got it and didn’t have any of the 3.

As for heat, it might help a little since there’d be less surface area but I wouldn’t expect it to help a ton. Might need more heat shielding or to drive faster and get that air moving lol.

They're all cats. I believe the smaller two are there to help the main cat while the engine was cold. Removing them won't change the way it runs.
I removed all 3 with no issues. I'm not sure about heat intrusion, but I doubt it would do much. With no cats I still have quite a bit of heat coming in through the floor and under the dash.

I would take them out! Sounds great without em!

Gut all three. You don’t want them breaking down and causing issues. I had to bang out the remains of the center cat during a race.

On the 88s, the O2 sensor is driver's side, upstream of the pre cat. So one could remove all 3 and the computer wouldnt be none the wiser.

I put long tube headers and removed everything except the Corsa mufflers after I built the engine. Sounds awesome now
