I have a 1984 Corvette, crossfire fuel injection, automatic transmission. A few months ago I had a issue with it engaging into gear. My cousin looked at it, lifted it and found out that there was a problem with the linkage or something. He fixed it and it was fine. Drove it for about 4 months and the reverse stopped working. Won't budge in reverse and it seems like it's not going in to any gear but drive. When in drive it stalls sometimes and sometimes it rides ok. Any info or insight would be appreciated
Pole really?
What's the condition of shifter cable? Will shifter actually move transmission lever into reverse?.With a helper and car on ramps or jack stands, key on engine off. Will shifter move transmission lever into each position from park to low and back. If the shifter functions correctly problem is likely within transmission. Sun shell failure is a common issue on the 700r4/4l60e.
Stalling is likely another matter. Codes? Vacuum leaks. Are both injector connectors fully seated, wires not pinched or damaged under air filter housing? Do both injectors spray?
