This just started a couple of days ago. When I put the key in the ignition I can turn it to the ON position fine, but when I go to start the car the assembly is real tight, the car starts fine but the ignition assy just seems like something is stuck in there. Also, now when I turn the car off and pull out the key the steering wheel won't lock
Has anybody experienced this? If so how'd you fix it? Can I just spray some graphite spray in there? I really hope I don't have to pull apart the column :banghead:
TIA
[EDIT] Hey MOD can you move this to TECH, I posted it in the wrong section. Thanks.[/EDIT]
Try tilting the column to a different position to see if that helps -Maybe the rod is bent or in a bind. I wouldn't spray anything in the cylinder for the sake of VATS. If it acts the same in all tilt positions, then it may be time for a new lock cylinder.
