Severe Loss in Power / Rough idle

So I put vortec heads on my 85 vette, L98 with quadrajet, and after running it the first couple weeks with 91 octane fuel it was amazing and no issues. I went ahead and jumped up to 93 octane to see if it would make it run any better. Since then the car has had nothing but issues idling as well as power loss. After sitting in the parking lot for about 5 minutes I revved the car up a touch and shot a flame straight out of the top of the carb. Anyone know if running the 93 would make the car bog down and have power issues? Any help would be much appreciated.

The fuel change is not the issue unless it was contaminated fuel. Sounds like an ignition issue. Check the timing, plugs, wires, cap.

Check to see if your distributor hold down bolt loosened up....

Definitely sounds like a timing issue.
