1990 C4 Stereo issues
I bought a 1990 Corvette last year equipped with the Delco Bose Gold Stereo System, and I'm having some issues. Mechanically everything functions properly, (cassette deck rolls the tapes and cd player spins). Whenever turned on, however, the power antenna goes up and everything lights up, but it only emits an awful squealing noise from the speakers. The volume nor any of the controls on the face on the stereo seem to have any effect on this. I have looked into this and the overwhelming consensus was that it was the amps, as they notroiously go out in these cars. I had one amplifier, (the rear driver side), professionally repaired to see if it would have any effect and it still has the same problem. I'm at a loss as to what it could be at this point. Is it a bad head unit? Do I need to replace more of the amps?
I've attached a clip of the noise to this post. Any ideas or suggestions would be much appreciated, thanks.
