I have a 84 corvette that dies on me at random times, sometimes right after start up , sometimes while driving ,sometimes while at a stop or coming to a stop . It always starts right back up.
Very annoying , I have way to much money in this thing for it to be acting as retarded as it does all the time .

check fuel pressure 13psi. on mine the fuel hose from the pump to fuel pick up was cracked. that's all I got
This may sound really dumb (take it easy on me arbee) but if you have a lot of keys on your keyring could the weight combined with a 40+ year old ignition switch be enough to move the switch and stop the engine?
When you say randomly, are you certain it's random?
Reason I ask is there is one intersection near my apartments that would always kill my 84. If I had to stop at the light I would stop way away from the white line or I'd be pushing it across the street and then it would fire right back up. If the light was green the car would die and I'd coast thru it and the engine would refire when I rolled far enough away from the problem. All I can assume after all those years is there was something going on with the EMF of the utilities under the road right there and my ignition system was affected. Didn't affect my roommates' or coworkers' vehicles
If it is completely random tho, like they mentioned check fuel pressure. Yours sounds like a fuel flow problem. Maybe the in tank sock is mostly clogged. Maybe even do a fuel filter change, they are as cheap as an oil filter. Otherwise you may need to ohm out the pickup coil and check your tumbler for excessive wear
