Does dash dimming work like other cars in these vettes? When I have my headlights on, the only way I can get the dash to light up is to shine a light into the photocell...
The dimmer slider will turn the interior lights on but does not do any dimming to the dash/radio/AC/etc... They all stay completely off.
I have to carry a flashlight with me to read the gauges at night.
So you are saying the digital information can be displayed correctly but only with a flashlight shined at the photo cell ? Do the digits show up brightly? Do you see the bar graphs but not the digits ? What year also ?
If you see the bar graphs but not the data, get a pair of polorized sun glasses or a polorizing filter for a camera and turn them in a circle to see in the data shows up through the filters.
I figured it out. I took apart the switch and found that the potentiometer was working just fine, but I could never get a reading on the pins for the connector. I reflowed all the solder joints on the board and it works perfectly now!
The problematic solder joints are the ones between the shiny metal tabs and the circuit board.
