PLEASE HELP
I had an tranny oil and filter change done to my 85 L98 automatic a week ago. Now when the car shifts from 1st to 2nd there is a shutter and noise. I suspect that its the tranny. Do you think a tranny flush will help.

Have you check the trans. oil level when the engine at operating temperature? How many miles was it when you change the oil? I changed mine at 141,xxx miles and had to replaced most of the seals. It was leaking trans. oil before that also :rolleyes: . Now that the engine is back in the car and the shift from 1st to 2nd is pretty hard too. But I haven't drive my Vette for almost two years, I don't remember how it shift before :rolleyes:. I don't really want to push it too hard either. I don't havethemoney or time to rebuild the trans. now.

you said that you had the filter changed so i assume that you did not do it yourself. i would make sure that they used the proper fluid and if they did then i would make sure the filter is in all the way into the pump in the trans pan. if all that checks out then put some lube gard or dr tranny shutter fix and the problem should take care of itself. :flag

The fluid level is fine but to make sure that the filter is on correctly I will have to drop the pan again. Do you guys recomend a synthetic oil for the job?
