Testing ,Testing Testing
When testing a battery how large a load should be placed on the battery to get a accurate test . Is 100 amps adequate or more? This is a 12 volt battery 4 years old if that makes a difference?

i bought a tester from Harbor Freight. (i have a lot of batteries to watch over)
Unless you just want to know the answer above, just pop it out and take to a parts shop. They'll test it for you.

A fully charged battery should be tested at 1/2 the Cold Cranking Amps for 15 seconds while observing the battery voltage. The voltage should not drop below 9.6 volts during the test. If it does, replace the battery.

I bought one but without the printout function. Usually dealer uses that to give to the customer.
The one I have is Topton model BT50. Topton sells this model on ebay direct and less than $30. Amazon has it for $49.99.
Topton has quite a few different models to choose from. I am satisfied with mine. My .02
