FIXED ! It was the CSI all along, starts right up now with no issues.
And the weather doesn't have to be "cold", does it? Just the engine does.
Ok. I'm a broken record on this "CSI is necessary for the first start of the day" for any 85-88. I'm weary of all the "you only need it in really cold weather" comments by peeps that haven't owned an 85-88 with non-opp CSI. If they had, they would know that if the CSI isn't working, it won't start very easialy for the first start of the day.

Correct. A big mistake I made was not completely understanding how the CSI works, and then hearing others tell me that I don’t need the CSI, but not knowing that there’s more to deleting the CSI than just unplugging it.
