Hello; My first post. After the battery failed I'm getting SYS in the Odometer display. I've driven it around for a month now after reading it should go away 'after awhile', nope. Pressed the TRIP button down to see if I can get codes... no good. Other forum posts also were not helpful. The battery seems to be 20 months old. Any thoughts? My C4 is a very early 1994.
help!!!!
Perhaps you didn't find this thread from a month ago. Go to post #4, it explains how to retrieve diagnostic codes utilizing the onboard diagnostics.
A SYS message indicates that there is an active code in the Central Command Module. Colloquially known as "Body Controller". Pull the codes from Module 1 (The CCM) and report back.
I vaguley remember that jumper thing. Where are those jumpers? engine compartment somewhere? I looked all around. Appearntly, I don't know what I'm looking for or what it looks like. I know I'll need a paper clip to reset but where?
The connector is above the drivers right knee when seated in the seat. To the far right of the panel, forward of the carpeted section, adjacent to the center console.
Put a jumper wire in cavity 4 to cavity 12. Turn key to RUN, but do not start. Watch the Speedo LCD. Write down the 'little number' and the C or H numbers that appear in the speed display. When it gets to A, - - -. turn off key. Report back with the codes.
