Replacing the TPS today
I've been getting a code H22. My understanding is the TPS needs to be changed. Is there anything I need to know about this procedure? Seems pretty simple, take the old one out, put the new one in. Anything that I'm missing?
TIA
Edit... Forgot to mention this is on a 93 LT1 auto

Yes you need a digital voltmeter to check and reset the TPS voltage. It's very simple, I believe there is a tech tip on this or do a past forum search! :)

Tech tips was for an 85. The 93 is completely different I think. How do you reset the voltage? Thanks
If your TPS has two slots hole where the screws/nuts attaching the TPS to the thottle body, then you have the same thing as the 85. I don't remmber its a & b or a & c terminal. You need to have three wire with exposed copper strand in the middle connect to the TPS and the plug. Connect the Voltmeter probes to the wire mention in the tech section, adjust the TPS to 0.45V...
If you don't have the GM shop manual yet, it is best to buy the Haynes at local auto parts store for now. The Haynes manual does goes in a little details on how to adjust the TPS. It's not that difficult.

Re: Replacing the TPS today (crheinish)
We got it replaced, car seems to be running much better now. Unfortunately, Discount Auto didnt have an AC Delco part, and I forget the brand we used. The idle is A LOT better now, and actually idles around 500 to 700 RPM's, instead of 1200-1500. My main conscern was the ASR properly working. The GM Manual mentioned using a Tech-1 scanner to program the ECM to the new TPS, however, I didnt find this necessary as ASR works just fine ;)
The only other thing we did for this procedure, was disconnect the battery (my code 22 is now gone) so hopefully the ECM will learn the new TPS.
This was (appears to be) a nice easy fix for a bad idle and code 22.
