So when I’m stationary getting ready to pull off, I’ll go to push the gas pedal down but it won’t budge. I’ll push down harder and harder until it gives in and my foot goes almost to the floor before I can react. It only happens when the engine is running and after I get the pedal unstuck it’s smooth until I come to a stop again. I did a quick clean of the throttle body and checked the cable but it still happening. The best way I can describe it is like opening a stubborn bag of candy. Any ideas on what it could be causing it is a big help. Thanks.

Even though you cleaned the plates you still have build up in the throat and plates, Had the same problem with my Tahoe wound up using a 22/38 caliber gun cleaning swabe with tons of carb cleaner and scrubbed it.

Is the throttle body stock? It makes me think that the throttle blades are not centered on the throttle bore, or the throttle stop screw is not set correctly and it allows the throttle to close too tight causing a bind. It could also be worn throttle body housing that jams up when the engine vacuum at idle pulls the throttle blades tight in the bore.
