Default C4 Lowering Question

I’m about ready to do the front spring swap & lowering to a Z51 spring but had a couple questions. Does one really need to remove the calipers & rotors or can they be moved out of the way & hung?

I haven’t seen a good video on the front spring but from what I can gather I’ll need to remove the swaybar end links from the lower control arms, disconnect the bottom of the shocks, disconnect tie rod ends & lower ball joint, remove lower control arms to get at the spring. Am I missing something?

I still need to find rubber to use under the spring tips as the factory rubbers are gone.

You don't need to do anything to the upper a arm or the brakes. You need to break the lower Ball joint one just one side and remove one shock. Just let the lower Control arm drop down no need to remove it. But this is for a Z51 Spring which has less Arch to it a softer higher arch spring might be more difficult.

Do you know if the control arm needs to be removed to replace the ball joints? I have Moog lower ball joints & the old ones are worn down to replacemt point (per FSM). Is there a good way to disconnect the ball joints w/o beating the aluminum? I’ve seen some separating tool recently but the old pickle fork destroys rubbers & I may not be doing the lower control arm bushings just yet. Trying not to have this apart for weeks as I wait on things to arrive to the middle of nowhere!

I did order some Delrin sheet yesterday to use under the transverse springs end tips since the rubber is missing. Hopefully it will stay put without gluing it to the spring. I may need to change thicknesses of it if I don’t like the ride height after all done.

Your auto parts store might rent you a tool for the Ball Joint but I have a press so never used one. I watched a video on glueing the Van Steel lowering Pucks and they glued them to the Cradle and not to the Spring it self. I lost one of them this last autocross season. So this time I glued it to the Aluminum Strap that the two Bolts pass threw. I could of glued it directly to the Cradle and not used the Strap got another 1/8" lower.
