Default Wiring Harness

Has anybody done a full front to back wiring harness replacement and if so where did you get your harness and was it worth it?

I've got an 84, and the previous owner messed with a handful of the harness in the engine bay and cab area trying to bypass security functions. I don't know if its better to try and fix the damage or just get a new harness. Any suggestions are helpful.

Truthfully I would try to repair skillfully (No Cheap But Connectors) Solder and shrink or those Hi-Tech Butt's that have a Solder ring that melts and shrink, and where it's totally screwed replace sections with a good Downer.
A whole harness is a long arduous journey, I highly recommend having a full Factory Manual with the Electrical supplemental.

Under the hood Firewall connection to forward Not fun but can be done, inside the car is challenging.

The only way I would do something like that is starting from scratch, sort of a generic hotrod wiring harness, aftermarket EXU, aftermarket relay/circuit breaker center, and aftermarket bulkhead connectors.

Otherwise it's such a mess, it's not like you buy six wiring harnesses and just plug them in. There are large potted firewall feed throughs, weird wiring strategies for external lights, terminal blocks, lots of old relays, ECM wiring with large conectors, door wiring feed throughs, dash/console wiring using ribbons, etc. Look through the Factory Service Manual for details.
